How to import PDF file to SQL Server

Recently I had to import a PFD file to SQL Server database. The file contained some statistical information in the form of tables and numbers.

Here is a simple way of doing this:

 

Open the PDF file in Acrobat Reader (I used version 9.1)
Click on Save As…
Save the document as Text (Accessible) .txt
Write a SSIS package

Extracting SSIS package definition from MSDB

How can you extract a SSIS package definition from MSDB repository?

The SSIS packages in MSDB are saved as image blobs and can easily be cast to VARBINARY and then to XML.

Here is the code:
